Look for Less: Victoria Justice at Herve Leger Fashion Show

Hope you are all having a lovely Monday! When I first started blogging, I used to put together a Look for Less post. While some of the outfits worn by celebrities are really cute, I know my pocketbook is not deep enough to afford the pieces that make up the individual outfits. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to recreate the looks with more affordable pieces. I really liked this recent outfit worn by Victoria Justice at the Herve Leger fashion show in February and decided to recreate the look.

Subtotal: $89.00

What do you think of the outfit? Which celebrities do you look to for inspiration? I look forward to your thoughts below!

Spring Work Essentials 2014

Happy Sunday everyone! Although it is still a bit chilly outside in Chicago, I am definitely starting to see some spring pastels appearing in the stores. Therefore, I thought I would pair together some outfits that I thought would be fitting for spring and would help to liven up the office.

Let me know what your favorite pieces are and what are some of your favorite trends this spring! I would love to hear your thoughts below!

Wear to Work

Hello! Hello! As the weather has gotten chillier, I have changed out pieces in my work attire to adjust. In the past, I have been asked what would be appropriate work attire in a business casual setting. My personal style is based off of simplicity and comfort. With simplicity and comfort as my basis, I created the outfit above. Let me know your thoughts and what your essentials are for biz casual attire!

Wardrobe Essentials
Blazer
Trousers
Pumps
Watch to avoid being late to meeting
Reasonably sized handbag in case you need to take something home

Fall Favorites

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. Here are my picks for fashion inspired by the colors of the fall. I have a jacket similar to the one pictured above. I think it pairs well with a simple tee or layered with a cozy knit sweater. Tan colored boots pair easily with jeans and are perfect for romping through crisp leaves. A pop of oxblood would go beautifully with the colors of fall and to top it all off, a pop of rose gold.

Outfit Idea: Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day! I decided to go home and spend some time with the family for Chinese New Years. Yay! Year of the Snake! Since this coming Thursday is Valentine's Day, I thought it would be fun to put together an outfit idea with what I would wear for V-day if I were to go out with friends or my bf.

I'm not very good with heels, so I thought a pair of flats would be cute. Let me know what you think and comment below if you have V-day ideas as well!

Get the Look: Jenna Dewan

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I got some work done over the weekend, so I'm pretty excited that I have a little bit of downtime. We have had pretty mild weather lately, so I thought this look would be something perfect for the fall.

I used items from both Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe to recreate this look. No, it is not exact, but I tried to get as close to the look as I could. At the moment, you can still find all the items I used via the links. Hope you like!

Fall Favorites: Berry Burgundy

Happy Sunday everyone! My schedule has been a bit crazy thus far and I'm in my last year of graduate school (yay!!!), so I apologize for not being able to post as much as I did during the summer. I am starting to get into a routine, so juggling all that I have on my plate has become a bit easier, but nonetheless, it has been a trying time. Despite my busy schedule, I have been trying to find some more jeans and in the process of trying to do so this morning, I kept finding myself drawn to this beautiful burgundy color. Plus, it is perfect for the fall (one of my favorite seasons). Therefore, I wanted to share some of the items I've been craving in this hue!

Let me know below what your favorite fall color is and what you think of this hue. If you have questions about grad school, feel free to comment below as well!

Outfit Idea: The Working Woman

I know it has been a while since my last post. I have been having a difficult time adjusting to all my commitments along with the start of my courses. Despite this fact, I have finally found the time to put up a new post and I thought it would only be appropriate that it relate to "The Working Woman." My little sister asks me all the time about what to wear in a professional setting, so I thought I would share some ideas I came up with for business casual attire!

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day (for those who live in the US) and a lovely Monday! Let me know what you think below!

Sunday Funday: Double Post!

Hi everyone! Just thought I would do a double post today. I just wanted to update everyone on some exciting changes! I started graduate school in the Fall of 2011. I heard that graduate assistant positions (you work with professors or school departments) are great funding opportunities, but difficult to come by. After trying for a whole year and not having much luck, I was feeling a bit down.

However, at the start of the summer this year, I did get a part-time job in my field of study, which made me feel a bit better. With the encouragement of my friends and family, I continued to apply for positions that came up through school. Towards the beginning of July, I was given an opportunity to interview for a graduate assistant position! Despite the previous rejections I received before, I stayed hopeful and just last week, I got a call letting me know I got the position! I'm excited, but apprehensive because of the time commitment it will entail.

My schedule will be as follows (starting in August)
Internship (required for school) - 3-6 hours
Part-time work - 12 hours
Graduate Assistantship - 20 hrs
Classes - 4 days a week; nighttime

Yes, it will be a crazy year!

Bonus: Even though it is almost the end of July and we're getting close to August, I thought I would still leave you with some cute ideas for the remainder of summer!

Have you girls had similar experiences or crazy schedules? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Let me know what you think of the outfit above and if you have questions about graduate school, feel free to leave them below as well!

Summer Outfit Idea: Mix n Match Brights!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday! With all this heat and hot weather, one of the best ways to cool off is by going for a swim. I love the bright colors on trend this summer and what better way to wear it than by incorporating it into your swimwear. Although we often opt to match our tops and bottoms, I thought it would be more fun to mix and match!

As always, I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments. Let me know what you think as well as what are some of your favorite summer activities!

Summer Outfit Idea: Fun With Colors

Happy Friday! It is the first day in a long while that I have not had to go to a meeting/interview or be at my internship, so I am very excited! I interviewed for two part-time jobs last week (I'm a full-time grad. student - yes, I like to stay busy) and I heard back from one of them yesterday saying I got the position. Hopefully, I hear back from the other one today, so that I can make a decision! So excited!

Today, I wanted to share another Summer Outfit Idea with you. I came across this great photo on Polyvore and loved it.

Let me know what you girls think below! Hope the summer sun has been treating you well and as always, follow if you like! Again, Happy Friday!

Summer Outfit Idea: Summer Romance

Hi everyone! I have another outfit idea for you girls. I fell in love with the colors in this picture when I came across it on Polyvore. I just thought the earthtoned pastels created a lovely, elegant, ethereal look for the summer. Hope you like!

Let me know what you think of the outfit below! I also decided not to get Invisalign just yet. Thanks for the input! I also received my cherryculture.com order or NYX and Milani products, so keep an eye out for that post as well.

Summer Outfit Idea: Pop of Color

Hello Hello! It is a lovely day outside today, which inspired me to put together an outfit idea on Polyvore. Thus far, I had never used the site before, but today, I thought I would give it a try. Turns out, it was really fun! Here's what I came up with. Hope you like!

Inspired by: Summer Flowers

Thanks again for those of you that commented on my Invisalign post! I really appreciate the help and advice since if I decide to do this, it would definitely be costly. For those of you that have had either braces or Invisalign, please comment and let me know what your experiences were and if you think the deal is a reasonable price for the procedure!

Also, let me know what you think of the outfit below ^__^!
