Maybelline Vivids Collection: Shocking Coral

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday and for those of you that enjoy watching football, Happy Superbowl XLVII! Today, I just wanted to share one product with you from the Maybelline Vivids Collection. The color is Shocking Coral (870). I purchased this product a couple weeks ago and really love the pretty bright color.

Yes, the packaging is a bit blinding, but I just thought this was a very pretty pop of color that could be worn both during the spring and summer. The swatch was taken in natural light! Let me know what you think below and if you have tried any colors from this collection as well!

Mini Haul: Drugstore Lipsticks

Hello Hello! Hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday! I wanted to put up a quick post before I headed off to work. For the past six weeks, I have been working with some high school students on a magazine project relating to substance abuse prevention. It was very rewarding to see the change in these students over the course of the program and hopefully I'll get an opportunity to do it again in the Spring! The program finished last Saturday and on the way home, I decided to treat myself. Here's what I picked up!

I picked up three lippies. Two are from Rimmel and one is from Revlon.

From L to R: Revlon Lip Butter in #085 Sugar Plum, Rimmel "Kate" Lipsticks in #14 and #09

Revlon Lip Butter - $8.00
Rimmel Lipsticks - $5.50

I think out of the three, my favorite is Rimmel #09. It is a very versatile pretty berry red and you can go light or heavy on it to create the look you want. I think it is really pretty for Fall/Winter! However, I do love the other two colors as well!

Ulta Mini Haul: NYX

Hi everyone! The weather has been lovely this week where I am. I usually walk several blocks on my way to work and it always brightens my mood when I see pretty bright flowers blooming.

Last week, I went home to visit my parents. While I was home, I decided to pay a visit to Ulta to pick up some NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss shades I had been eyeing. Here are the shades I picked up!

From Top to Bottom: Perfect, Nude Peach, & La La

Swatches
From L to R: Perfect, Nude Peach, & La La

Along with the lip glosses, I also picked up two NYX Round Lipsticks in Paris and Tea Rose. I wanted to get Tea Rose from cherryculture.com a long time ago, but it was always out of stock on the site, so I was very happy when I came across the shade at Ulta!

From L to R: Paris & Tea Rose

I took the pics in natural light and tried to get the pics as close to the natural color as possible. There's also a Memorial Day discount on cherryculture.com at the moment (20% off everything on the site MDS12). On cherryculture, the round lipsticks are normally $2.99 and mega shine lip glosses are normally $4.50. The discount code expires May 28th! My little sister and I couldn't help ourselves >.< and we ended up placing a fairly large order this morning...

Just a thought, but just wondering if you all would like me to do lip swatches. I understand that the colors may not show up the same on everyone's lips since everyone's pigmentation is different. Let me know if you all would like that by commenting below. What are your favorite shades of NYX lippies?

NYX Lipgloss/Lipstick Review and Swatches

Hello! Hello! So, recently, I was looking through my drawer and realized I had collect a large number of NYX lipsticks and glosses.  Not sure how I came about to acquiring all of them, but thought that I should share in case anyone needed swatches and reviews on the colors.  I think I actually purchased most of then from cherryculture.com (the site currently has a promotion for 40% off on their NYX products from Nov. 8th thru Nov. 13th if you enter code NYX40), but you can purchase them from nyxcosmetics.com as well. Plus, I have a tiny break between school projects, so I thought I would provide an update ^_^.

Overall, I really like NYX products because they are affordable with a large selection of colors.  I think the quality of their products are also great.  Since I do not use makeup on a daily basis, I probably don't need to repurchase, but I definitely would consider repurchasing these products if needed.  I definitely recommend others to give these products a try!

Are there other NYX lipstick/gloss colors that you've tried that you would recommend? I'm also considering purchasing Bare Escentuals mineral powders (foundation/concealer).  Just wanted to see if any of you have tried their products.  I also have sensitive/combination oily skin and do experience breakouts...any recommendations/advice would be appreciated ^^!
